Tour of Duty Mini Medallion - Medium
The mini medallion project was inspired by my installation, Tour of Duty (2007) - a tribute to the domestic warrior. Each medallion is made from the union of two objects, each with prior history and associated place. Fashioned from a collection of pre-loved men’s tie and decorative buttons and found objects. More than a mere embellishment, the decorative is reassigned to construct a ‘decoration of honour’. “This is essentially a tribute to the domestic warrior in our lives - given with love and thanks for the unsung service on the home front”.
Pre-loved men’s tie, vintage or new button or some other found object. This medallion measures 135 mm high and 50 mm wide.
